Setup
You need to install the add-on from Marketplace first:

Next, move to your Google Sheets, and navigate to Extensions > Cooltables.
Use the templates section to find this template. Click to copy it to the current spreadsheet.
Another way is to use the add-on sidebar menu. You'll find the "Templates" task, and be able to browse among other templates.
Usage
Copy the checklist template to your Google Sheets using the Extensions > Cooltables menu.
Enter values in column B for tasks groups; this triggers conditional formatting to highlight those rows.
Use the checkboxes in column D to mark tasks as completed.
Watch the progress bar update at the top of the sheet, reflecting your overall completion rate.
Hide or group rows with tasks "done" to declutter the sheet by organizing completed tasks as needed.
